New Single: Krell (2026 Remaster)

It took a really long time for me to finally release “The Midnight Sun Chronicles” album. I had several setbacks and hard drive crashes that it almost felt like the project was cursed. Not only that, these days with digital recording there are just so many options for how you record, mix and master a track that it is very easy to second guess yourself and get lost in a maze of plug-ins. After I finally got the album out, I promised myself I wouldn't go back and tinker with the mix or mastering of the songs and just move on to the next project.

However in the years since I released the album, I noticed Krell has relatively low streaming numbers compared to just about every other song on the album. I think it is a solid enough song and there must be a reason for the low numbers. The song starts with a pretty long, weird introduction of screams and other sounds before it really gets going into the music. My guess as to why it has low listens is that weird intro. Many listeners probably hear that and just skip on to the next song. Alas, in the days of streaming no one takes the time to listen to an album anymore.

As an experiment I cut the intro and while I was at it I did a few minor mastering tweaks. I think the result is pretty good and I'm now releasing Krell (2026 remaster) as a stand alone single. Hopefully more people will take the time to listen to it. If you like the weird intro the album version is still out there and available to stream or buy!

New Single: Even the Crying

I've been at work on a new project that involves going through alot of my old songs and recordings. More about that later, but for now check out “Even the Crying.” This is my very first digital recording using a version of Cakewalk known as Protracks. I recorded this somewhere around ‘02 or ’03. I wasn't really able to remix the song as I just had a stero MP3 to work with. I did however, run it through some mastering software and tweaked it a bit. To listen to the track just go back to my homepage and listen to it there or better yet, add it to a playlist on your favorite streaming platform. I hope you like it!

Steven Hill Rocks!

Greetings!!

This is the brand new landing page for all my projects. I hope some of you have made it over from my old stevohill.com site. Although I had that site for a very long time, the web hosting service was sold and I had to look for a new home. Along with that I decided to get a new “grown up” domain name.  I have plans for much more content but for now if you would like to hear my latests digital release The Midnight Sun Chronicles  either click the text or the picture of the album cover above and it will take to another site that is currently hosting the album with all the links to your favorite streaming platforms. You can also stream by searching my name and the album title together and should bring it right up. If you would like to purchase the album in MP3 format go to the Amazon and use the same search or follow this link. The search probably works on iTunes and other platforms as well. If you're old school like me and would like a physical CD of the album, send me an email and we can make arrangements to get you one. Amazon and other sites are currently sold out.

The Midnight Sun Chronicles

I'll eventually migrate everything over here and I'm currently working on a brand new project so check back often for new featured tracks and other content. Thanks for visiting!!

Rock On!
