FOUR DECADES IN AND STILL CRANKING IT UP!
As soon as I could play, I began writing songs. As soon as I could write songs, I was recording — two tape recorders in my parents’ basement became my first studio. That was the start of my journey .
I’ve spent my life creating music — performing, recording, and experimenting across stages and studios. I play guitar, bass, drums, keys, and vocals. If I had pigeonhole myself into a specific genre I would say Hard Rock. That is where most of my music lands. However, I have written everything from Progressive Metal to acoustic ballads. Heck I've even written a Country song or two! The nice thing about being completley independent is you can do what you feel at that moment in life.
Musical Influences
Rush, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Van Halen and Triumph to Dream Theater, Wolfmother, Tom Petty...and everything in between. I mostly gravitate to progressive rock but I also like alot of straight hard rock like AC/DC and Kiss. There is another side of me that loves funk and even Disco! I like just about any song that feels inspired, is performed well and comes from the heart or hits you in the gut. Not something that came out of a corporate cookie cutter. Sadly to me at least, that is most pop and country music these days. But hey that's just me. If you are into it that's fine, it's just not my jam.
That's the cool thing about any kind of art. Sometimes the more devisive it is the more inspiring it can be. I think that goes for movies, books and especially music. My all time favorite band is Rush. When I first found them in the 70s practically no one knew who they were. If I was out and saw someone wearing a Rush shirt I instantly knew we had something special in common. One of my greatest joys in life is the number of friends I turned onto to Rush and other muisc I love. Mostly, we are all still friends today. In those days, discovering your favorite bands with friends created a meaningful bond. Today with streaming, music has just become a commodity and I think something has been lost.
The Journey Continues
From basement recordings to live stages and studio sessions, I'm still writing, performing and recording music. It is my one true lifelong passion and I plan to keep doing it no matter what. This site is a place to explore that journey: listen to tracks, watch performances, and follow the story as it continues.
Rock On!!
